About this Guide

The Slayte Events module lets you plan and schedule your physical or virtual conference or event. Sessions can be scheduled in timeslots, tracks, categories and speakers assigned - And these are only examples, as the templates and fields mechanism give you endless flexibility in creating a fully customized event that exactly suits your needs.

A few examples:

  • Association A is planning their annual meeting in Slayte Events and creates sessions from submissions, then assigns rooms and times.
  • Organization B runs their virtual conference through Slayte and plans their Sessions with attached Zoom meeting IDs in several tracks, and uses the conflict-detection to avoid double booking speakers.
  • Government Dept C runs their continuous education webinar series through Slayte - In several sessions with attached Webex-meetings users can pay to attend and later be able to claim attached CE credits.

This guide will walk you through the main responsibilities and workflows needed by Administrators in the Events module. You will find step-by-step walkthroughs for the common Admin tasks, as well as screenshot examples to guide you through these.

Let’s define a few key terms that will help you navigate through this guide:

Event

An Event is made up of Speaker Sessions that form together to create a schedule for a real-life event or conference, that can also be held virtually.

Session

Sessions are the building blocks for Events that contain information on speakers, content, track etc. Sessions usually have allocated time slots and locations, and speakers may be invited to share their insights during them.

Fields

Fields are the variables that help distinguish each session during an event such as Speaker Topic, Location, Track etc. Custom Fields are chosen by an Administrator and added to a template that will be filled in to create the event schedule.

How to use this Guide

The Navigation menu on the left will guide you through the Admin workflows of managing an Event, in the most straight-forward order. You can work through the Admin guide from top to bottom, or you can skip ahead to later sections if preferred.

The search bar located at the top of this Guide can be used to search for any specific terms you would like to find out more about.
