Troubleshooting: Support your Submitters

Here are a few common issues faced by Submitters and how to best advise them:

Problem Solution
Submitter Unable to Access Call If your Submitters are unable to access your Call please ensure to check: * The Submitter meets Slayte's System Requirements
  • The Call has been set to Released on the Call Detail page.
  • The Phase Dates of your Call include today’s date.
  • The Submitters fulfill any Submission Access Restrictions set on the Call.
  • There is no ambiguity over which Submission Phase their Submission should go to. This article provides more detail on this. | *Tip: You can share a direct link to your Submission Form by clicking Display Link to Submission Form on the About page of the Call Detail. This link can be shared with your Submitters to directly lead them to your Call. | | | | Submitter Unable to Submit | | If your Submitters are having issues submitting to a Call advise them to check the following items: | * Read the error message displayed at the top of the page to understand the exact issue.
  • Check they have filled in all required Form Fields.
  • Ensure they are attempting to access the Call before the End Submission Phase Date. | As an Administrator you should ensure: | * There is no ambiguity over which Submission Phase their Submission should go to. This article provides more detail on this.
  • This user meets all the required Submission Access Restrictions for this Call. | | Submitter Unable to Withdraw Their Submission | | Withdrawing a Submission is a feature Administrators must enable when setting up the Call, or later on the Call Detail. If you would like to allow Submitters to withdraw their Submissions after the Call has been created: | 1. Go to the Call you would like to edit Withdrawal options on
  • Click on the Template tab
  • Click Edit next to the Submission Phase holding the Submission
  • Under Submission Setting next to Allow Withdrawal, tick the checkbox for Yes, Allow
  • Click Save on the top right of the Call Template | | | | Submitter Unable to Edit Their Submission | For Submitters to make one round of changes to their Submission, you must set the Status of their Submission to Editable. To do this: | 1. Go to the Call holding the Submission that needs to be edited
  • Click on the Submissions tab
  • Click View next to the Submission that needs to be edited

  • Click Edit next to the Submission Phase holding the Submission
  • Under the Submission Form section click Allow authors to name other users as co-author

Submitter Unable to Access Call

If your Submitters are unable to access your Call please ensure to check:

  • The Submitter meets Slayte's System Requirements
  • The Call has been set to Released on the Call Detail page.

Submitter Unable to Submit

If your Submitters are having issues submitting to a Call advise them to check the following items:

Submitter Unable to Withdraw Their Submission

Withdrawing a Submission is a feature Administrators must enable when setting up the Call, or later on the Call Detail. If you would like to allow Submitters to withdraw their Submissions after the Call has been created:

  1. Go to the Call you would like to edit Withdrawal options on
  2. Click on the Template tab
  3. Click Edit next to the Submission Phase holding the Submission
  4. Under Submission Setting next to Allow Withdrawal, tick the checkbox for Yes, Allow
  5. Click Save on the top right of the Call Template

Submitter Unable to Edit Their Submission

For Submitters to make one round of changes to their Submission, you must set the Status of their Submission to Editable. To do this:

  1. Go to the Call holding the Submission that needs to be edited
  2. Click on the Submissions tab
  3. Click View next to the Submission that needs to be edited
  4. Under Status click Make Editable

Submitter Unable to Add a Co-author

Allowing Submitters to add co-authors to their Submissions is a feature that must be enabled by Administrators, either when creating your Call or later on the Call Detail. To do this:

  1. Go to the Call holding the Submission
  2. Click on the Template tab
  3. Click Edit next to the Submission Phase holding the Submission
  4. Under the Submission Form section click Allow authors to name other users as co-author
  5. Click Save on the top right of the Call Template
